Most of us are introduced to typography through brand logos. Def Jam’s stacked type, Gucci’s double G, and the letters NIKE nested in a swoosh caught my attention early. Touki Bouki
We were tapped to reimagine the artwork for Criterion Collection’s rerelease of Djibril Diop Mambéty’s classic film, Touki Bouki. In addition to working with beautiful still images, this project called for custom typography inspired by Senegalese handpainted signs.

We kept the Fader 20th Anniversary/Vinyl Me Please exclusive pressing extra simple. Instead of ink, all logos and copy on the jacket are metallic vinyl foil on reverse board. The record is crystal clear vinyl with metallic ink on the label.
