Our logo work for Teranga didn’t start with choosing and/or designing fonts. Instead, we bagan by studying the hand lettered alphabet that was created by a sign painter in Senegal. Step two was making slight modifications that honored his work.

Touki Bouki
We were tapped to reimagine the artwork for Criterion Collection’s rerelease of Djibril Diop Mambéty’s classic film, Touki Bouki. In addition to working with beautiful still images, this project called for custom typography inspired by Senegalese handpainted signs.
Fit The Description
Key art for a film project that engaged black male civilians and officers about their engagement with law enforcement. Tight crops focus on faces, eliminating any cues about profession or status. The subjects are facing opposite directions and type is used as an element that connects them. Photography: Seher Sikandar

We kept the Fader 20th Anniversary/Vinyl Me Please exclusive pressing extra simple. Instead of ink, all logos and copy on the jacket are metallic vinyl foil on reverse board. The record is crystal clear vinyl with metallic ink on the label.
